Class Dojo-A Communication Solution

Communication is a vital component of any school environment. This includes communication among staff, students, and families. One issue I have noticed in my current position is the lack of a uniform communication method. With emerging digital technologies, there are a lot of tools that can be implemented in schools to assist with classroom communication. According to Kuusimaki et. al (2019), mobile communication is beneficial because, "teachers can inform parents about the events of the schooldays, provide shorter or longer written feedback on pupils’ studies and their grades, furnish information about timetables, and maintain diverse communication with a parent" (p. 2). My solution to this problem is using Class Dojo as a school-wide communication too.

I designed a plan (found below), to highlight my rationale behind this training, along with the goals, and implementation plan. The plan aims to introduce the problem to the teachers utilizing survey data from the staff. The plan also will introduce teachers to the benefits of Class Dojo and share with them how to use it. In the plan I designed, I share the steps I will take to implement this plan, including getting approval from administrators. It also highlights how I will follow up with the teachers after implementation to check in with the staff members to ensure they have no follow-up questions.

Overall, this plan should be utilized to help improve the communication between teachers and parents. This will help establish a community of collaboration among the families in the school. The plan below highlights how this plan can be utilized to achieve that goal.

Let me know your thoughts below! -Erin
